EASA STC for 3-blade MT-Prop on Cessna FR / R 172 series

Atting, March 2023 - MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH have received the EASA STC 10078671 R4 for the installation of the 3-blade propeller MTV-12-D/188-59( )on the Cessna FR / R 172 (). In this revision some more models of the Cessna ()172() have been added.

Now the MTV-12-D/188-59( ) can be installed on the following aircraft / engine combinations:

FR172E, FR172F with IO-360-D,

R172E, R172F with IO-360-D/-DB,

FR172G with IO-360-C/-D/-CB/-DB,

R172G with IO-360-C/-D/-CB/-DB,

FR172H with IO-360-C/-D/-CB/-DB/-HB,

R172H with IO-360-C/-D/-H/-CB/-DB/-HB,

FR172J with IO-360-H/-HB/-J,

R172J with IO-360-H/-HB,

FR172K with IO-360-K/-KB,

R172K with IO-360-K/-KB.



MT’s 3-blade composite propeller MTV-12-D/188-59 can now be installed on various type variants of Cessna’s FR / R 172 series.

MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht says, that the installation feature the following advantages:

- Best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operations

- Bonded on stainless steel leading edge for best erosion protection of the blades

- Take-off distance slightly improved

- Up to 2 kg (5 lbs) less weight than the original propeller

- Unlimited blade life

- Increased ground clearance for less blade tip erosion
