Friedrichshafen, October 06, 2026 - At AERO 2027 (April 14–17, 2027), gliding will once again be prominently represented with its own exhibition area, the AERO Gliding Expo. The industry showcases its innovative and high-performance high-tech aircraft every two years at AERO, the leading trade show for air sports, general aviation, and business aviation. Leading glider manufacturers such as Schempp-Hirth Flugzeugbau GmbH, Jonkers Sailplanes, DG Aviation, and Alexander Schleicher Segelflugzeugbau, as well as suppliers and service providers from the industry, have already confirmed their participation.
On September 30, 2026, a very special anniversary was celebrated in a relaxed atmosphere—complete with grilled sausages and drinks—at the Osnabrück-Atterheide airfield (EDWO). The guest of honor was a still-sprightly elderly lady from the Cessna "140" series, which had been certified for flight exactly 80 years earlier in Wichita, Kansas (USA).

Atting, September 2026 - MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH received the FAA STC SA12472IB for the installation of 2-blade MTV-15-B/203-58 on the MX-7-180, MX-7-180B, MX-7-180C, MXT-7-180, MX-7-180A, MXT-7-180A powered by a Lycoming O-360-C1F engine.

War has returned to Europe—everyone knows it, everyone feels it. Then-German-Chancellor Olaf Scholz delivered his famous "Zeitenwende" (watershed moment) speech during a special session of the German Bundestag on February 27, 2022. Indeed, the geopolitical landscape has shifted significantly since then due to Russia’s war against Ukraine—as well as changes in US foreign policy. Four years after that announced turning point, planned measures by the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) are now beginning to have concrete impacts on routine General Aviation operations in Germany.

Atting, July 2026 - MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH have received the FAA STC SA12438IB for the installation of their "Silent 7" 7-blade propeller MTV-37-1-E-C-F-R(P)/CFR205-353( ) in Piper’s PA46-600TP and PA46-701TP aircraft, powered by the Pratt & Whitney propeller turbines PT6A-42A in PA-46-600TP and PT6A-52 in PA-46-701TP. This installation is already supplemental type certified by EASA’s STC 10089486.
A successful AOPA Fly-In at Stadtlohn-Vreden brought together pilots, organisations and aviation businesses from both sides of the Dutch-German border. On 4 July, Flugplatz Stadtlohn-Vreden (EDLS) hosted a well-attended AOPA Fly-In that demonstrated both the diversity of General Aviation and the value of cooperation across national borders.
