Further STCs for MT Propeller

German prop manufacturer widens range of products

Atting, March 2021 - German prop manufacturer MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received further recent supplementary type certificates (STCs) for new and higher performance props to be installed in a number of different aircraft types. AEROMARKT publishes the latest additions to the MT propeller production range hereunder.

FAA STC for Cessna 441 with 5-blade MT-Propeller

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received the FAA STC SA04460NY for the Quiet Fan Jet composite 5- blade propeller MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(G)/CFR224-55( ) on the Cessna 441 powered by two Honeywell TPE-331-8 propeller turbines or TPE-331-( ) installed per approved STCs which do not exceed 635.5 SHP and 2000 rpm.

This installation is already certified by EASA STC 10070901.

MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht says, that the installation feature the following advantages:

- Bonded on wide chord nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.

- Smaller diameter of up to 4 inch compared to the original propeller, this means more ground clearance of about 2 inch for less FOD and also more clearance to the fuselage, therefore less cabin noise from the prop tips.

- Take-Off improvement up to 15%, so compared to the original AFM a higher safety for the calculated take-off run.

- No propeller ADs.

- TBO 4500 hours or 6 years, whatever comes first, for low maintenance costs.

- No intermediate inspections are needed between the TBO which requires the propeller removal.

- Reduced cost for spare parts, like blades and lower overhaul costs, for the complete propeller assembly.

- No rpm restriction for the complete operational range.

The long time proven MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. There is no life limitation of the blades and they are repairable in case of an FOD The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation.

EASA STC for ASI Aviation F406 with 5-blade MT-Propeller MTV-27

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received the EASA STC 10075453 for the Quiet Fan Jet composite propeller MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(P)/CFR220-55( ) on the ASI Aviation F406, powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6A-112 propeller turbines.

MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht says, that the MTV-27 for the F406 has the following advantages:

- A Smaller diameter of up to 16 cm (6 inch) compared to the original propeller, this means more ground clearance of about 8 cm (3 inch) for less FOD and also more clearance to the fuselage, therefore less cabin noise from the prop tips

- It improves Take-Off up to 8%, so compared to the original AFM a higher safety for the calculated takeoff run

- There are no propeller ADs

- The MTV-27 has a TBO of 4500 hours or 6 years, whatever comes first, for low maintenance costs

- There are no rpm restriction for the complete operational range

- The MTV-27 propellers have no life limitation and repairable in case of a FOD

- The installation complies with the strict German noise regulations 2010 - „Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung“ for unrestricted airport operation in Germany and other European Countries

The long time proven MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.

FAA STC for 3-blade MT-Propeller on Rockwell Commander 112 turbocharched models

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received the revision of the FAA STC SA03658NY for the installation of the 3-blade MTV-12-B/188-59f on the Rockwell Commander 112TC and 112TCA. With this revision the STC includes the Rockwell Commander models 112, 112B, 112TC, 112TCA and 112, 112B with “Turbonormalizer” per FAA STC SA5202NM.

The installation is already certified by EASA STC 10054491 R1.

MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht says, that the installation feature the following advantages:

- No engine modifications necessary

- Ground roll & takeoff distance over 50 ft obstacle is reduced by approx. 90 m (295 ft)

- Climb performance slightly improved

- Very smooth cruising - no speed penalty

- Approx. 13 kg (29 lbs) less weight than the original 3-blade metal propeller

- More ground clearance for less FODs

The long time proven MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD. They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation.
