3-blade prop for Piper’s PA-34 Seneca I and PA-23 Apache
Further STCs for MT Propeller
Atting, June 2021 – German propeller manufacturer MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH have received further EASA STCs for their 3-blade MTV-12-B-C-F/CF(L)183-59( ) and MTV-12-B-C-F/CF188-53( ) for a retrofit installation in the PA-34-200 (Seneca I) powered by Lycoming IO-360-C1E6, LIO-360-C1E6, respectively in Piper PA-23-235, PA-E23-250, PA-23-250 aircraft, provided they are powered by Lycoming IO-540-C-Series, Lycoming TIO-540-C-Series (PA-23-250, PA-E23-250) or Lycoming O-540-B-Series (PA-23-235) engines.
The FAA STC are is in progress in both cases.
MT-Propeller has received the EASA STC for their 3-blade prop to be installed in the Piper PA-34-200 Seneca I.
MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht says, that the installation feature the following advantages:
- Best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operations
- Bonded on stainless steel leading edge for best erosion protection of the blades
- Take-off distance slightly improved.
- Up to 20 lbs less weight than the original propeller
- Unlimited blade life
- Increased ground clearance for less blade tip erosion
- No rpm vibration restriction.
For the PA-23 Apache installation. Albrecht mentioned the following advantages:
- Best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operations
- Unlimited blade life
- Unbeatable esthetic ramp appeal
- FOD repairable blades
- Stainless Steel Leading Edges
Another EASA STC was granted for the installation of MT-Propeller’s 3-blade prop in the Piper PA-23 Apache I.
