August 12, 2021 | Friedrichshafen – Messe Friedrichshafen is strengthening its specialist communications in the area of its aviation portfolio by working with Volker K. Thomalla. Messe Friedrichshafen is pleased to announce that aviation journalist Volker K. Thomalla (58) will join the company's communications team as "Head of Communication Aerospace Cluster" with immediate effect. Thomalla will cover the growing demand for technical communications for the trade shows in Messe Friedrichshafen's aviation portfolio - AERO, AERO ASIA, AERO South Africa and EUROPEAN ROTORS - and serve as the point of contact for national and international trade and daily media.

Roland Bosch, Head of AERO at Messe Friedrichshafen, says: "We have known and appreciated Volker K. Thomalla for a long time. He has been reporting from and about AERO for many years and is a profound expert on the aviation scene. It is a great asset to welcome him to our team and we look forward to working together!"

Thomalla brings his vast experience as editor-in-chief of various aerospace trade magazines (Aerokurier, FLUG REVUE, BART International) and web magazines (Aerobuzz.de) to his role. Just this year, he received the prestigious, international Aerospace Media Award for one of his articles in the English-language Business Aviation magazine BART International. Thomalla is also the author of several aviation books. He has attended every AERO in Friedrichshafen since 1985.
