Two new FAA STCs for props on Piper’s PA-60 and Cessna’s 210

MT Propeller

Atting, November 2021 - MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received the FAA STC No. SA04452NY for the scimitar 4-blade composite propeller MTV-14-B-C-F/CF(L)188-30g on the Aerostar PA-60-600, -601, -601P, -602P, PA-60-700P powered by the engines Lycoming IO-540-A- and IO-540-S-series (modified according to FAA STC SE1657NM) and (L)TIO-540-U-series.

This installation is already certified by EASA STC 10062000.

The FAA has granted German prop manufacturer MT Propeller two new STC’s for Cessna’s 210 and Piper’s PA-60 Aerostar.

MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht says, that the installation features the following advantages:

- Shorter take-off distance

- Enhanced climb by approx. 3% to 5% (SL, ISA conditions)

- Cruise performance increased by approx. 3 to 5 kts (MTOW, ISA conditions)

- Approx. 40 lbs less weight than the original propellers

- No airframe resonance with low engine rpm

The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of a FOD. They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on stainless steel leading edges for best erosion protection of the blades.

4-blade scimitar prop for Cessna’s 210 now also FAA STC’d

In a further context, MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has also received the FAA STC No. SA00925WI for the next generation 4-blade scimitar composite propeller MTV-14-D/195-30b on the Cessna P210N, P210R, T210M, T210N, T210R powered by the Engines TCM TSIO-520-P, -R, -CE, -AF.

The installation is also certified by EASA STC No.10038720.

MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht says, that the installation feature the following advantages:

- 5% better climb

- 3 to 5kts faster cruise

- best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation

- bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades

- the scimatar blades have an unbeatable esthetic ramp appeal

- can be operated in Switzerland in the lowest noise category

- max rpm reduction to 2500.

Due to the smaller diameter the MT-Propeller for the Cessna ()210() Series has more ground clearance for less blade tip erosion and FODs.

The long time proven MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD.
