New MT Propeller 5-blade prop STCs for US and Canada

Beech King Air 300 / 350 series and Cessna 441

Atting, May 2022 - MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received the Revision of the FAA STC SA03525NY for installing the Quiet Fan Jet 5-blade Propeller MTV-27-1-(E,N)-C-F-R(P)/CFR260-65b on the Beech King Air 300/350 Series powered by the Engines P&WC PT6A-60A /-67A. The STC is now also valid for the Beech King Air 300/350 with a MTOW up to 17,636 lbs .This installation is also certified by EASA STC 10050861 R4.

MT Propeller’s Quiet Fan Jet 5-blade scimitar composite propeller has received the FAA’s green light for installation in the Beech King Air 300/350 Series powered by P&WC PT6A-60A /-67A engines.

According to MT-Propeller President Gerd Muehlbauer, the installation of the 5-blade MT-Propeller on the Beech King Air 300/350 Series

- provides best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation

- has bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for for superior erosion protection of the blades

- provides a general performance improvement (8% take-off & climb, 4-5 kts cruise)

- has no propeller speed restrictions on ground while operating in low idle

- has more ground clearance for less FODs

- has lower ITTs during start-up for less engine wear

- provides a significant cabin noise and vibration reduction

- has an unbeatable esthetic ramp appeal

- has no life limitation

- has FOD repairable blades

- has the longest industry TBO of 4,500 hours / 6 years

All models comply with the strict German noise regulations 2010 – "Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung" for unrestricted airport operation in Germany and other European Countries.

Furthermore, the German prop manufacturer has also released information that the Canadian regulator TCCA Canada has STC’d MT’s 5-blade propeller for use in the Cessna 441. To this effect, MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received the TCCA Canada Letter of Acceptance of the EASA STC No. 10070901 for the installation of the Quiet Fan Jet composite 5- blade propeller MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(G)/CFR224-55( ) on the Cessna 441 powered by two Honeywell TPE-331-8 propeller turbines or any TPE-331-( ) installed per approved STCs which do not exceed 635.5 SHP and 2000 rpm in May 2022. This installation is also certified by FAA SA04460NY.

MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht says that the installation features the following advantages:

- Bonded on wide chord nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.

- Smaller diameter of up to 4 inch compared to the original propeller, this means more ground clearance of about 2 inch for less FOD and also more clearance to the fuselage, therefore less cabin noise from the prop tips.

- Take-Off improvement up to 4%, so compared to the original AFM a higher safety for the calculated take-off run.

- No propeller ADs.

- TBO 4500 hours or 6 years, whatever comes first, for low maintenance costs.

- No rpm restriction for the complete operational range.

The long time proven MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction.

There is no life limitation of the blades and they are repairable in case of an FOD The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation.
